Arnold Schwarzenegger is back! The former action star is making is first non-“Expendables” role and leading role since leaving the Governor’s chair. In his latest film, “The Last Stand”, the “I’ll be back” star is returning to the big screen as a hard hitting officer in the action packed film which have fans lined up.
The Kim Jee-woon directed film is about an retired LAPD officer turned sheriff, played by Schwarzenegger, who finds himself pulled into a large law-enforcement operation to catch a drug kingpin and his gang members. The film also stars Johnny Knoxville, Forest Whitaker, Jamie Alexander, and Genesis Rodriguez. While viewers are anticipating the cinematic return of the gov-nah, critics are on the fence about the violence-filled film.
In heat of the anti-gun violence rally going on in Hollywood, it’s interesting to see a former politician in a gun totting action flick. “The Last Stand” consists of deathly blood baths and excessive gun use that has many questioning the sensitivity of movies these days.
Arnold Schwarzenegger comes out strong in his acting return, reminding us why we fell in love with him in the first place. The action. “Terminator 5” has been announced, along with a slew of new movies in the works for Schwarzenegger, including “The Tomb”, so it seems we’ll be seeing a lot more of him.
