Thirty Seconds to Mars

Rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars has come roaring back to the mainstream world with a new single called “Up in the Air.” The new single is lifted from their upcoming album, “Love Lust Faith + Dreams,” and they had an out of this world idea on how to announce their new body of work.

Thirty Seconds to Mars sent their new “Up in the Air” single to the International Space Station so they could have the exclusive first listen on Monday. The band will release the single for us earthlings on Tuesday. A disc containing the new single was was launched on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on March 1. The band got to watch the rocket blast into space.

“It was amazing to feel it take off,” frontman Jared Leto said. “The noise and the brightness was overwhelming, and you’re still a mile away.” According to the bands frontman, getting their new song into space was alot easier than being sued for $30 million by EMI when the band was working on “This Is War,” released in 2009, which sold over 500,000 copies.

The new single “has to do with getting to a point in your life where you’re ready to let go of the past, embrace change and become more of who you really are,” Leto said.
