Emmy Award winner and former NBC news anchor Tom Brokaw was hospitalized early this morning after becoming dizzy on the set of talk show “Morning Joe.” The 72 year old was in North Carolina as a special correspondent for the Democratic Convention. President of NBC News Steve Capus made the following statement about the incident: ” On the set of ‘Morning Joe’ this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated, is in good spirits, and is expected to be released shortly.” Brokaw indeed did appear to be in good spirits, taking to Twitter to update fans on his condition. “All is well Early AM i mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual,” he said. Brokaw was an anchor with NBC for over two decades and has stayed with the network in recent years as a special correspondent.
