“The X Factor” has keep us on our toes to see who will take it all. In recent weeks, the balance of power shifted among country hopeful Tate Stevens to teen star Carly Rose Sonenclar. On Thursday night’s finale, Tate Stevens took home the title of the “X Factor”, becoming the show’s second winner and coveted $5 million recording contract.
“This is the best day of my life,” said Stevens in triumph. This also marked a win for mentor L.A. Reid, who announced last week that who would be leaving the show at the end of the season.
Carly Rose Sonenclar, mentored by Britney Spears, was a fan favorite. The thirteen year old New-Yorker had a diva-esque voice, took second. She and mentor Britney Spears shared a tearful exchange following the results. The young sensation is expected to sign some sort of a record deal in the future. Five piece girl group Fifth Harmony took the third spot. In the British version of the show, third place winner One Direction went on to see great success.
One Direction performed at the finale of the show, debuting their pop single “Kiss You” and joined on stage by Pitbull who performed “Don’t Stop the Party” from his 2012 release Global Warming.
