The Sun has received over 3,500 hundred complaints after defying legal warning from the Clarence House and publishing nude pics of Prince Harry last week. The Sun is the only newspaper to publish the pictures that first surfaced on the celebrity gossip website TMZ. Since its Friday publication the Press Complaints Commission has received numerous complaints mostly along the vein that the pictures invade the princes right to privacy. According to the PCC they have not received any formal complaints from representatives for Prince Harry and they do not generally follow up on third party complaints. The Sun is defending the publication of the scandalous pictures claiming that it was in the public interest. News corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch defended The Sun on Saturday, saying that the publication made a point about Britain’s lack of free press.
