Rosie O’Donnell and wife Michelle Rounds adopt baby girl

Its a girl for Rosie O’Donnell and wife Michelle Rounds. The duo surprised their Twitter followers with the happy news on Tuesday when they posted a picture of themselves holding their new infant daughter along with the caption, “we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks -AMEN”

The couple adopted the child this week after plans to have a child of their own had to be postponed. O’Donnell had told talk show host Dr. Oz back in January that Round was “trying to get pregnant” but shortly after the 41 year old was diagnosed with desmoids tumors, an illness that required her to undergo several surgeries. The two were forced to put baby plans on hold and bump up the date of their marriage by several months. In August O’Donnell announced that the two had secretly wed in June. She also revealed that she had recently suffered a heart attack.
