He might not have a chopper in the car, but Rick Ross is now secured with 24 hour armed personal security. After being subject to a drive by shooting early Monday morning, the rap mogul has increased his security measures.
After celebrating his birthday at the LIV Nightclub in Miami, Ross left the venue early Monday morning. The suspects pulled up beside Ross’ Rolls-Royce and opened fire around 5 AM in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ross, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle during the incident and ran into an apartment building. There have been no arrests or suspects identified by the police. “We are currently looking for members of the public to come forward with information,” said Detective Deanna Garcia of the Fort Lauderdale Police department. “The victim cooperated with the police on scene and was released. No one was injured or taken to the hospital.”
The rapper had been receiving death threats and was being targeted by a street gang called Gangsta Disciples for weeks. The threats caused him to cancel a few shows on his tour last year. Rick Ross was already using a armed body guards to accompany him at major events such as concerts and public appearances. He now has hired 24 hour surveillance to keep himself protected.
