Country singer Mindy McCready has had a rough month, to say the least. McCready’s “soul mate” David Wilson was dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound a little earlier this month.
After taking some time to grieve, McCready is ready to sit down and talk about his death, as well as put any rumours that she had something to do with his death to rest. A portion of her upcoming interview with Dateline was shown on the Today show Tuesday morning, and it is McCready strongly denied having anything to do with his death when she was asked if she shot him.
“Oh my god, no. Oh my god, no,” McCready responded. “He was my life. We were each other’s life.”
McCready was then asked if she believed “100 Percent” that Wilson shot himself or whether there was foul play involved and she got a little quiet before replying, “I don’t know.” The singer also took the time to shoot down rumors of Wilson cheating on her, saying, “David was not having an affair with another woman. That is absolutely totally untrue.”
A lot of Wilson’s close friends have been questioning the circumstances behind his death, saying his suicide didn’t make sense because he had a lot to live for.
