Mariah Carey to Join the Cast of American Idol

Pop megastar Mariah Carey is slated to become the newest host on the popular series American Idol and will reportedly be making between 12 and 15 million a year for the job. Since Jennifer Lopez announced that she would not be returning to the show many names have been suggested as a replacement but Carey, who admits to being a long time fan of the show seems to have one the coveted spot on the lineup. Carey, whose manager is long time Idol host Randy Jackson, is excited to find a more stable career that will allow her plenty of time to be at home with her young family and the show will be a great place for the singer to promote her new album expected out soon. Carey’s husband Nick Cannon is currently working for rival talent show “America’s Got Talent”.
