Justin Bieber keeps bringing the hits! The Canadian singer has become the first artist to have five number ones before the age of 19.
According to Billboard, Justin Bieber’s Believe Acoustic debut on top this week’s Billboard 200 chart with sales of 211,000 based on figures by Nielsen SoundScan. The album was also number one on iTunes in over 63 countries.
That’s not the only triumph for Bieber. Label Island Def Jam Music Group also noted that the debut makes Bieber the 10th act in history to have a number one album in four consecutive years. Other artists to complete this feat include Jay Z and The Beatles. Bieber previously tied with Miley Cyrus, who had also claimed four leaders before she turned 19. Bieber turns 19 on March 1. Currently, the Biebster is the most followed person on Twitter with more than 33.9 million followers and was the first artist to achieve 3 billion views on YouTube.
“Believe Acoustic” includes eight acoustic and live tracks originally found on the singer’s “Believe” album, which was released last year. “Acoustic” also includes three new recordings entitled “Yellow Raincoat”, “I Would”, and “Nothing Like Us”.
Taking a break from his “Believe” tour, Justin Bieber will be both host and musical guests on the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.
