After the popularity of Girls, Lena Dunham has been popping up everywhere and it’s hard not to love her and the break out HBO series. Well, apparently Howard Stern doesn’t.
Stern made comments about the writer and star of the show calling her a “little fat girl”. Durham recently sat down at the Late Night Show with David Letterman and talked a bit about his comments. “I did find out that Howard Stern really hates [Girls], which I’m a Howard Stern fan, and I believe he’s earned the right to free speech and he should just go for it,” said the actress to Letterman. “I wanna get it on my gravestone where he said, ‘Congrats to her (Dunham)’. It’s so hard for little fat chicks to get anything going these days.”
The Letterman audience got a kick out her lightheartedness. Dunham told Letterman that Stern’s words put her in the “best mood”. Adding to the joke, the Late Night Show host said into the camera, “I think that’s the essence of life’s struggle, isn’t it? Before you go to bed tonight, before your head hits the pillow, please consider little fat chicks and how hard it is to get things going.”
Girls will return for season 2 on Sunday, January 13 on HBO.
