Actress Diane Kruger sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live and discussed her meeting of teenage crush, Don Johnson. When meeting the Miami Vice actor, Kruger started crying, she admits.

Kruger, who is best known for her role in Inglorious Bastards, told Kimmel the embarrassing story of meeting Johnson. She was introduced to him by director Quentin Tarantino at a Vanity Fair party. She admitted that she was immediately star struck and began crying and breaking down. “I mean I had a few too many, let’s be honest, but it was so embarrassing .. He is so embarrassed and his wife is so embarrassed for me …He actually had to say, ‘I’m walkin’ away now.'”

Kruger quips that her boyfriend, Dawson Creek star Joshua Jackson, tried to calm her down. “My boyfriend was like, ‘Diane, you really need to stop talking.'” Kruger was able to get a picture with Johnson before he walked away and Kimmel showed  it the audience. “This is almost like a DUI mugshot,” jokes the late night host.

Diane Kruger now stars as a detective on the FX drama The Bridge. She plays Sonya Cross, who has Asperger syndrome, which was both challenging and rewarding for Kruger to portray. “How can someone who has a condition as Asperger’s really excel at being such a good cop? That’s really what drew me initially to the project,” said Kruger. The Bridge airs on Wednesdays at 10 EST on FX.
