Danity Kane is back! The girl group has decided to reunite for a tour and album, without P.Diddy.
Danity Kane was formed by P. Diddy in 2005 on “Making the Band 3”, an MTV competition. After a huge blowout between the girl band members Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richards four years ago, the group fell a part. The group had huge success with singles like “Show Stopper” and “Damaged”.
In recent interviews, both O’Day and Richard seemed favorable for a Danity Kane reunion. However, Diddy isn’t the only one out of the loop. The reunion may go on with just four of the original members: Aubrey O’Day, Dawn Richard, Aundrea Fimbres, and Shannon Bex (minus D. Woods). The four were spotted having lunch in Los Angeles with a new managers to discuss a reunion on Monday.
When asked if they told P. Diddy about their plans, O’Day tweeted, “Who’s that?” Diddy signed the girls to Bad Boy in 2004, where they released two platinum albums Danity Kane and Welcome to the Dollhouse, but kicked them off the label (with the exception of Dawn) in 2009. The ladies still kept in contact throughout the years. “Most of us all stay in touch and talk all the time,” said Aubrey in 2011. “I would love to bring it all back and get all the girls back together and have another little Danity Kane moment in life.”
After the split, Aubrey and Dawn continued to stay in the music industry.
