The Bon Jovi camp has been silent since the New Jersey singer’s daughter suffered a heroin overdose in her Hamilton College dorm room last month, but Bon Jovi has finally spoken out about the incident in a recent promotional appearance.
Bon Jovi was speaking to Fox to promote his upcoming soundtrack for the film “Stand Up Guys” when he brought up the “tragedy.”
“What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous,” the singer said, but if you don’t take it too seriously it’s a great way to make a living. And then life goes on. Things happen. This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we’ll get through it. And people’s incredible warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we’re, we’re good.”
Bongiovi was arrested for drug possession at the time of the overdose but charges were later dropped due to a law in New York State that doesn’t allow prosecution for small amounts of drugs when an overdose occurs.
