Big changes are in store for American Idol next season. The popular singing competition reality show is shaking things up as they struggle to find a replacement for popular host Jennifer Lopez. Lopez, who has hosted the show for the past two years, has decided not to return for a third season, choosing instead to focus on other parts of her busy career. Show executives have been batting around a lot of names over the past month but one in particular is generating a lot of buzz. Former Idol alum and second place winner Adam Lambert is looking like a likely candidate to return to the show as host. With his flashy image and major fan appeal show execs feel that he would bring a great human element to the show. Facing fierce competition from new shows like “The Voice” and “X Factor” Idol will really have to step up its game next season if they want to hold on to viewers and ratings.
