Tom Hardy, actor who played Bane in the Dark Knight Rises, may try his hand at a different role. According to new reports, the actor is being considered to take on Sir Elton John in the upcoming biopic of the music legend called Rocketman.
The website HITFIX, reports that Hardy may star as Elton John in the new film. The biopic is described as “a biographical musical fantasy that weaves together the life of Sir Elton John and his music.” Elton John will be executive producing the biopic, while newcomer film director, Michael Grey, will be directing. Talk about a leap for Hardy. In the past, He has taken on roles in films such as the Dark Knight Rises, Bronson, and Inception.
The site claims that Hardy has not necessarily been made and offer, but that “the project is out to [him]”. The 35-year-old actor will appear in the Stephen Knight thriller entitled Locke opposite Tom Holland. He has also been spotted filming Animal Rescue, a crime drama centered around a lost pitbull and a scam artist. The film is based on a short story and is directed by Michael R. Roskam, who worked on 2011’s Bullhead.
