While Chris Brown and Rihanna have moved on and patched things up, it seems like the rest of the world can’t, including Law & Order: SUV. Last night, the series debuted an episode, which seem to be mimicking the infamous 2009 assault between the two performers.
The episode follows the fictional singer, Micha Green, who is physically assaulted by her hip hop performer boyfriend, Caleb. Micha refuses to press charges and stays with him despite his extreme temper and history of abuse. Micha turns up dead and authorities suspect that Caleb had something to do with it. The episode also featured real life media personalities such as Wendy Williams and Perez Hilton. The episode even made a reference to real life couple when Munch says, “They should double date with Chris Brown and Rihanna.”
Tiffany Robinson, who acts as Micha in the episode, told MTV News that she took the role very seriously. “They really pushed it so that we can really look at the seriousness of it,” said Robinson. “I felt like they drove it home even more. They kept it real, and they went there, regardless of what controversy it would bring. It was about telling the truth. Originally when I saw it, they hadn’t ended it that way. This is what happens [in abusive relationships] when we look at the the numbers. This is usually where it ends up.”
Do you think the episode took it too far?
