We’ve watch Dakota Fanning grow up on film from the young daughter in “I Am Sam” to the rocker chick in “Cherry Bomb”. In her latest project, a Sundance film called “Very Good Girls”, the actress finally gets a chance to bare it all.
Dakota Fanning shot her first nude scene on film since starting her career in the latest Sundance film. “Yeah, well, I’ve never done that before and I’m very newly allowed to do that,” she told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival. “I was newly 18, so yeah, it was, it’s kind of a sensitive thing, but it’s a part of life.”
In the film, Fanning along with pal played by Elizabeth Olsen, embark on a journey to lose their virginity. The coming of age story shares the experiences of young girls growing up and the repercussions that come along with it. “No one’s every comfortable [doing love scenes],” said Fanning about shooting the scene. “No, you just have to go for it. Sorry, I didn’t do a sex scene in this movie so I should shut up,” added co-star Elizabeth Olsen.
Boyd Holbrook, the actor who plays the interest of Dakota Fanning, says the two showed realism in their scene that fans can connect to. “As in life it’s not always so perfect and glossy and seamless,” he said. “It’s quite awkward sometimes especially with that. This film’s about its going into life, first sexual experience, so it’s all about the environment and not taking it to serious.”
“Very Good Girls” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this month.
