When it comes to her relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna likes to keep us guessing, but in the recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, the Barbados singer finally shared details about their “new” relationship.
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” she admits to contributing editor of Rolling Stone, Josh Eells. “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
The pair have been spotted together on several occasions, however, they continued to deny claims that they were back together. They both stated they were working on their friendship, but frequently shared intimate photos together on Instagram. The couple reunited just four years after their domestic dispute of 2009 before the Grammy’s. The incident resulted in Brown receiving a restraining order from Rihanna, as well as community service and probation.
“You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s**t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”
Rihanna says she’s confident that their relationship will not turn sour again and that an incident like before is not an option.
