Demi Lovato could afford to stay in any home she wanted, but instead has been living in a fairly spartan sober living home for more than a year, according to TMZ.
“The X Factor” judge, who once suffered from anorexia, bulimia, and cutting, doesn’t want to fall back into the grip of addiction, where she found herself in 2010. The 20 year old felt she needed to keep the support and guidance from the counselors and other addicts who understood her situation. Shortly after her inpatient rehab stint, the singer moved into a facility in the Los Angeles area. Lovato also owns a very nice home in L.A, but rather stay at the facility instead, reports TMZ.
Lovato stayed in the sober living facility throughout the entire season of ‘The X Factor’. Lovato felt it was best to come home to the facility, where she wouldn’t spiral back into the ways of addiction often brought on by the media attention.
It is undetermined as to how long Demi will stay in the facility. It seems as if she is allowed to come and go as she pleases, which could serve as a longterm solution to her problems similar to ex-cohost Britney Spear’s conservatorship.
While Britney Spears is rumored to leave “The X Factor”, no word has come if Demi will continue on despite differences with creator Simon Cowell.
