Singer Ian Watkins charged with Child Sex Offense

According to UK officials, Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins was charged with child sex offenses this week. A spokesman for authorities told the press that “A Pontypridd man has been charged with sexual offenses against children and is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today. The 35-year-old has been charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under the age of 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children. In order to assist their investigation, South Wales Police has named the man as Ian Watkins, a member of the rock group Lostprophets.”
Watkin’s camp has remained silent since the story broke, refusing to comment on the allegations. Lostprophets was formed back in 1997 and the band has sold over $3.5 million records over the course of their 15 year career.
