Fellow actors and longtime couple, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are calling it quits after 30 years of marriage, a spokesman for DeVito announced today. No details have been released as to the cause of the split. The two married back in 1982 after performing on the hit comedy television show Taxi where Perlman had a recurring role as DeVito’s girlfriend from 1978-1982. The two also co-starred in the 1996 adaptation of the Roald Dahl’s classic children’s story Matilda. Perlman is perhaps best remembered for her role as the sharp tonged waitress Carla on the the very popular 1980’s comedy Cheers, a role which earned her four Emmy awards over the years. DeVito has enjoyed a long and successful comedic career and is currently starring on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The power couple also started their own production company that produced hits like Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich. The couple have three adult children together.
