Andy Samberg’s departure from live sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live has been heavily speculated since last May but today the star is making it official. the actor spoke with The New York Times to make the announcement “It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.” Sandberg originally joined the cast back in2005 and skyrocketed to fame with his duet “D–k in a box” with guest star Justin Timberlake. Sandberg also made a name for himself with his impersonations of stars like Mark Wahlberg and Mark Zuckerberg. Sandberg’s contract was up at the end of last season and he says that it just felt like the right time to go. “Something about it just feels like its the right moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.”
