Top 3 Musician Divorces of 2012

While we all love the happy stories we read in the news (though they may be few and  far between), we are also guilty of loving a good celeb breakup! 2012 saw it’s far share of celebrity love lost but here are the top musician break ups of 2012.

1. Marc Anthony & Jennifer Lopez

Few saw this sassy duo heading for splitsville but sadly July 2011, Marc announce his intention to divorce his wife. Lopez opened up in interviews just this year to explain the “devastation” she felt from the loss of her husband. She says that to avoid falling into depression, she continued to dance everyday, work out and pray. She has continued to blame herself for their failed marriage. The divorce became official when Anthony filed for it in April of 2012.

2. Katy Perry & Russell Brand 

The couple that made us all laugh and smile sadly called it quits shortly after becoming official – in fact, it was just 14 months later! After a romantic wedding in India, things apparently began going downhill. The two have cited “incompatibility” as the reason for the divorce. The divorce was filed by Brand in December 2011 but their marriage was officially dissolved in July 2012.

3. Usher & Tameka Foster 

Singer Usher filed for divorce way back in 2009 but it only became final August 2012. This came after very heated court drama and a lot of finger pointing. In the end, Usher was granted full custody of the couple’s children.

Who will join the list of doomed musicians next year and whose love will last? Only time will tell but all is far in love and war as they say…
