Check out this really cool video entitled “Tiny Pistons to Drive Holographic Displays”. These guys have created some really cool technologies and it is interesting to see holographics becoming more mainstream and included in more technologies. Recently during a mall visit I saw a virtual keyboard where you can type on a blank surface and lasers can pick up where your fingers are typing and use those as your keystrokes for whatever device you are using. Because the device runs off of blue tooth it means that you can plug it in to your favorite iPhone / Android / iPad or even desktop device that you want.
Check out minority report ( the movie ) too which has some cool 3d displays and touch screens mounted on walls and devices you can control with your hands.
