Late last month The Rolling Stones announced that they would be playing 4 shows as part of their 50th anniversary tour. Yesterday the band posted on their website that a 5th date has been added. The new show will be held at Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center, where it was just announced that Jay-Z would be celebrating the New Year, and fall between the already scheduled shows at London’s O2 Arena and Newark’s Prudential Center. While many fans are complaining that tickets for the shows are overpriced, starting around $150, it is not stopping them from selling out almost instantly and when tickets go on sale for the Barclays show next Monday they are expected to go just as quickly. The concerts are just part of the celebration planned for this major musical milestone. Also on the horizon, in honor of an amazing 50 year career are, a new documentary, a greatest hits album, featuring two brand new tracks, and a collection of photographs. There are also rumors circulating that the Stones may make an appearance at next year’s Glastonbury music festival.
