Former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell is so happy to be a new mom, she couldn’t help but take to the Instagram social network to post pictures of her daughter.

O’Donnell, 50, showed off pictures of her daughter smiling on Monday. Dakota O’Donnell was born via surrogate mother, and was warmly welcomed by O’Donnell and her wife Michelle Rounds. “And now the smiling begins,” O’Donnell wrote in the caption accompanying the picture of her daughter smiling.

It’s not hard to tell that O’Donnell is enjoying her time as a new mom, and couldn’t wait to share her bundle of joy with the world. She’s been posting a lot of pictures lately with her daughter in it, and even wrote a touching tribute that said, “I have a new baby
, she smells delicious,
 cooing and blinking,
 welcome to the world. Life has on occasion so much joy, 
babies anchor me 
to souls here and gone
 2 connection.”

O’Donnell has four other children with ex Kelli Carpenter.

Its a girl for Rosie O’Donnell and wife Michelle Rounds. The duo surprised their Twitter followers with the happy news on Tuesday when they posted a picture of themselves holding their new infant daughter along with the caption, “we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks -AMEN”

The couple adopted the child this week after plans to have a child of their own had to be postponed. O’Donnell had told talk show host Dr. Oz back in January that Round was “trying to get pregnant” but shortly after the 41 year old was diagnosed with desmoids tumors, an illness that required her to undergo several surgeries. The two were forced to put baby plans on hold and bump up the date of their marriage by several months. In August O’Donnell announced that the two had secretly wed in June. She also revealed that she had recently suffered a heart attack.
