It’s not your usual babysitting situation but Denise Richards, second wife to Charlie Sheen has agreed to watch Sheen’s twins with his third wife Brooke Mueller as she heads to rehab to seek treatment for an adderall addiction. Sheen is too busy working on his new series “Anger Management” to look after the 3 year-old twins himself so Richards was kind enough to step in and keep an eye on the toddlers.
Mueller’s problems with drugs and alcohol have been well documented and this will be trip number 19 to rehab for the troubled star. The latest trip was precipitated by a drug overdose last week that required Mueller to be rushed to the hospital. A family source told reporters that “Brooke’s friends and family fear that she is going to die if she doesn’t manage to get a grip on her addiction and stop taking drugs.” Richards, who also has two children with Sheen, watched the twins the last time their mother went to rehab.

Nadya Suleman, better known as Octomom, is headed to rehab to seek treatment for a prescription drug problem. She has apparently checked into the Chapman House Rehabilitation Center in California to treat a dependency on the drug Xanax which she was taking to treat anxiety. According to a statement issued by reps for Miss Suleman, “Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors. Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be. She will be in treatment for 28 days or more if needed. Although the rehab offered to treat her at no charge, Ms. Suleman opted to pay for the program.”

Suleman, who famously gave birth to octuplets back in 2009, will be leaving her 14 young children in the care of friends and nannies while she receives treatment. Despite filing for bankruptcy earlier this year, Octomom seems to have eased her financial woes of late by launching a career in adult entertainment. While her finances may have stabilized her abilities as a mother have come under serious question in recent years. According to nannies that have worked for Suleman, the older children have sexually abused their younger siblings. Reports of black eyes and other indications of abuse have been reported as well. Social Services paid Octomom a visit not too long ago after a hairstylist who went to Suleman’s home to give her a $2,000 haircut discovered that the family was living without plumbing, using training toilets in the backyard instead. She is also finding it difficult to protect her children from her budding porn career. According to a nanny, who reported the incident to family services, Suleman caught her 11 year old watching one of her adult videos on the family computer back in June.

Metallica filled in for Green Day at this weekend’s Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans and made it clear to fans that Billie Joe was in their thoughts as they dedicated two songs to the beleaguered front man during their performance. Leader singer James Hetfield dedicated the song ‘Battery’ to Billie Joe during their first set and paid tribute again during the encore, teasing fans with the opening chords of Green Day’s hit song ‘American Idiot,’ and saying to the crowd that ‘They’re getting it sorted out; hopefully they’ll get it fixed because the world needs them.”

Green Day was originally slated to headline the Voodoo show but had to cancel at the last minute when Billie Joe entered rehab last month to seek treatment for a substance abuse problem. The band had originally just cancelled a few upcoming promotional appearances but two days after missing their Voodoo performance the band announced that they would be cancelling all of their upcoming dates for 2012 and will be postponing their 2013 tour. Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt issued a statement saying; “Obviously, the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank all of you for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again.”

In hopes of consoling disappointed fans the band has decided to push up the release of their upcoming album ¡Tre! from January 15^th to December 11^th. “We feel bad that we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we planned,” said drummer Tre Cool. “If we couldn’t be there to play for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.”

It’s a boy! Hawaii Five-O actor Alex O’Loughlin confirmed today that his girlfriend, surfer turned model Malia Jones, has given birth to their first child together. The couple has yet to reveal details about their new addition but it appears that all is well for the handsome couple. While this is their first child together, both have children from previous relationships, O’Loughlin has a 15 year old son named Saxon and Jones has a 3 year old named Spike. The two first went public with their relationship at the 9^th Annual G’day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala last January in Hollywood and E! News announced the pregnancy back in August.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the Australian born hunk. O’Loughlin spent some time in rehab earlier this year to deal with a dependency on prescription pain killers, The actor took a short hiatus from his role as Lt. Commander Stephen J McGarrett after an onset injury in season 2 left him dependent on drugs to get through the demands of his grueling schedule. The actor was back in record time however and he seems happier and healthier than ever. These days he’s drug free and as happy with his home life as he is with the new directions that his hit TV show is taking. Not only is his real life family growing, with the birth of his son, but his TV family has expanded this season as well. Lt. McGarrett has discovered that his mother, who be believed to have been murdered, is alive and well and living in Hawaii and his onscreen romance with Michelle Borth is getting hotter than ever. Still the character closest to McGarrett remains his crime fighting partner Danno played by veteran actor Scott Caan. O’Loughlin jokes that their pairing “is like a good marriage.”

Michael Lohan is heading to court, again, and this time he hopes to protect his troubled daughter Lindsay Lohan by getting a conservatorship for her. According to celebrity gossip site TMZ, Lohan fears that his daughter, who has had very public battles with substance abuse, is hanging out with a dangerous crowd, including her mother Dina. For fear of being accused of financial motives, Lohan does not want to be appointed conservator himself, rather he is hoping that the judge will appoint someone to be responsible for Lindsay’s finances, anyone except for her mother that is. Lohan told his lawyer that he also hopes that a conservator will be able to get his daughter back into rehab. He hopes that without negative influences around her that she will be able to focus on her sobriety. He believes that it is the people that she’s been surrounded by that have prevented her from staying clean in the past. Also on the Michael Lohan agenda: family therapy for Dina. Just last week reports emerged that the family matriarch was using cocaine and Michael thinks that getting Dina help will in turn help Lindsay. It’s not all drama and turmoil for Miss Lohan these days, it appears that the actress may be slowly getting her career in forward motion again. Production began early this year on her new idie film The Canyons directed by Bret Ellis and co-starring adult actor James Deen. Lindsay, who hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2010 in Robert Rodriguez’s film ‘Machete’, will play a former model who hooks up with Deen’s bad boy character. The controversial film will hopefully give Lohan the push she needs to get out of the headlines and back in the film studio until then the family drama seems to continue to unfurl at an alarming rate for the troubled young star.
