Any younger sibling can tell you that growing up as a little sister or brother comes with a very special set of pitfalls, but growing up the younger sister to Kim and Kourtney Kardashian is another ballgame entirely. So, how did that experience shape Khloe Kardashian?

The youngest Kardashian sister, 28, says that she understand she’s not a teeny little gal, and that being in the public eye can be hurtful but also, kinda weirdly helpful.

“I’m confident in who I am,” Khloe told Cosmopolitan UK recently. “I’ve always known that I’m not Kim and I’m not Kourtney – I’ve always been OK with that. I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beat up your spirit and soul. But it’s made me stronger. I’ve gained another level of confidence. I’m pretty tough.”

And she’d have to be. After Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiered in 2007, any sort of sisterly insecurity was magnified to the bazillionth degree, because the world suddenly felt free to weigh in on the issue (so to speak).

“I was quickly criticized for not being a cookie-cutter sister like Kourtney and Kim,” Khloe remembered.

She’d gained a fair amount of weight after their father passed away in 2003, and after hearing that criticism from reality fans around the world, she set her mind on slimming down in a bid to make herself feel better. She did, and it did…temporarily.

“I lost about 30lbs before I did Kourtney And Khloé Take Miami,” Khloe explained. “I was feeling so good about myself and I was still so critiqued. I thought, ‘Oh, my gosh, if I’m not good enough now…’ And that’s when something clicked in my brain: I have to do whatever is good for me… I feel that I’m healthier [now], but I don’t think I’m prettier thinner.”

You go, KoKo! We always dig that Khloe is such a hilarious badass, but her honesty is what really gets us every time.

It was a big night on ‘The X Factor’ when a double elimination had Arin Ray and Beatrice Miller packing their bags and heading home. This leaves only 8 contestants in the running as season 2 heads towards the finals. Co-hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez revealed that the two young performers were at the bottom of the score board based on viewer votes and Ray was sent home immediately for coming in tenth place. Britney Spears tried to soften the blow of rejection by telling her: “You know, I think you should just take this as a learning experience and this isn’t the last people are going to hear from you.”

Miller was sent home after judges Spears, Cowell, L.A. Reid and Demi Levato came to a 3-1 vote to send her home instead of other low scorer of the evening CeCe Frey. Spears was again kind in her parting words saying: “Sweetheart, you are so young. You have so far to go. This is just the beginning for you, and the song you sang tonight was excruciating and hard, and you’re a true star in my eyes and you will always be.”

Khloe Kardashian Odom, born June 27, 1984, is an American businesswoman, television personality, radio host, socialite, and model. Khloe Kardashian Odom is in the same business as the rest of her family, which is reality TV. Khloe Kardashian Odom plays a major role in the Keeping Up With The Kardashian where she is a fan favorite for not being afraid to speak her mind even when no one wants to hear it. Khloe Kardashian Odom and her sister Kourtney announced in April of 2009 that they were asked to star in a Kardashian spin-off series, which followed their move to launch a D-A-S-H clothing store in Miami, Florida. The series, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, debuted on the E! television network on August 16, 2009 and was well received by the fans. On September 27, 2009, Khloe Kardashian married NBA basketball player Lamar Odom, who was a member of the famed Los Angeles Lakers at the time. Khloé later changed her name to Khloé Kardashian Odom.

She has gone on to star in several other reality tv series, as well as appearing in a couple episodes of 90210. On top of her work in television Khloe Kardashian Odom also has a vested interest in D-A-S-H, a clothing boutique in Calabasas, Miami and SoHo, with her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kim Kardashian.
