In a recent Facebook post, it has been confirmed that production for “The Amazing Spider Man 2” has begun.
Sony announced on Tuesday that the Marc Webb’s sequel to the 2012 superhero movie has started production. Sony also confirmed the casting additions of Paul Giamatti, who is rumored to be playing the villain the Rhino, and the “Thor” actor Colm Feore, whose role in “The Amazing Spider Man” is currently unknown.
The Facebook post on the official “Amazing Spider Man” page shared a brief synopsis of what’s to expect from the sequel. Peter Parker is busy juggling being a high school senior, dating Gwen, and taking on bad guys. Peter hasn’t forgotten his promise to Gwen’s father to stay away from her, but it’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things change as a new villain emerges and an old friend returns. Peter will also find out new clues about his past.
The film stars Andrew Garfield who plays Peter Parker, Emma Stone plays Gwen, and Jamie Foxx stars as the new villian Electro. The film also stars Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Gianatti, and Sally Field. Sony also confirmed the casting of Shailene Woody, although her role has yet to be announced, it is rumored that she will play Mary Jane Watson, the love interest of Peter Parker in the “Spider Man” comics. “I think Marc Webb is amazing. I’m so stoked to work with Andrew and Emma. They’re the best,” Shailene Woody told MTV News.
“The Amazing Spider Man 2” is directed by Marc Webb and is set for release on May 2, 2014.
