Rihanna just wrapped up her Diamonds World Tour and now has another victory to check off her list. Ri’s latest album, Unapologetic, recently reached platinum status, making it her six out of seven albums to do so.
Unapolegetic is the singer’s sixth album to cross the million copies sold threshold. That makes six out of seven of her studio albums to reach such a milestone. Only the singer’s 2005 “Music Of The Sun” is the only album to have not done so. Unapologetic reached a million copies sold in its 27th week after selling only 9,4000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singer promoted the album with a 777 world tour to celebrate it being her seventh studio album, as well as the Diamonds World Tour.
The album included popular singles including “Diamonds”, “Pour It Up”, and “Stay”. The single “Diamonds” went four times platinum! Her latest single, “Right Now” featuring David Guetta was just released on May 28. Unapologetic is also the Baja singer’s first album to debut at number 1 when it was released in November.
Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad has sold over 2.8 million copies and remains her top album to date. The album featured hits such as “Umbrella”, “Disturbia”, and “Don’t Stop The Music”, pushing her into the total stardom she reigns in today.
