Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have released the first official photos of their new new son, Prince George. The royal family bypassed the fluff of a fancy professional photographer and picked family snapshots to show to the world.
The images showcased Kate holding the swaddled baby boy while standing beside William. In some shots, they’re shown sitting beside the family’s cocker spaniel, Lupo. The pictures were taken by Kate’s father, Michael Middleton, in their backyard. “The photographs were taken by Mr. Michael Middleton in early August int eh garden of the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berksire,” written in the official press release from Kensington Palace.
They moved away from the tradition of hiring a professional photographer, which made the couple more modern and presentable to this “Instagram” generation. Professionals, however, have given the family photo a mixed review. Martin Keene, who is the head of pictures at the Press Association news agency, noted that “any photographer would have been pleased to have taken them.” Arthur Edwards had some advise to the photographer, “Don’t give up the day job.” All in all, the family looks happy and warming and it looks like Prince George is fitting in right now.
