With only a month left to go until this year’s EMA’s MTV is announcing some major additions to the 2012 lineup. Among those headed to Frankfurt, Germany on November 11th will be Psy, the Killers, Alicia Keys, Pitbull and South Korea’s latest star Psy who has been rocking the globe the last few weeks with his hit song ‘Gangnam Style.’ “Since this is my first time to not only be nominated for an international award but to perform in front of a worldwide audience, I am excited to give up my international virginity to the MTV EMA!’ Psy told MTV. Just a month after ‘Gangnam Style’ debuted Psy has appeared on the Video Music Awards, the Today Show and Saturday Night Live, not to mention he still has the #1 best-selling song on iTunes.
Many of the nights artists have new works that they will be promoting. Alicia Keys will be performing a track from her new ‘Girl on Fire,’ the Killers are promoting their new album ‘Battle Born’ and Pitbull plans to debut work from him upcoming ‘Global Warming’ album.
These are only the latest additions to what was already promising to be an all-star show. German born model Heidi Klum will be hosting the nights activities which will also feature performances by Muse, Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Rita Ora, Fun, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Aside from the nights performances there is also fierce competition brewing for the night’s big awards. Taylor Swift and Rihanna, who is rumored to be heating things up with ex Chris Brown, are both nominated for the most awards of the evening with 5 and 6 nominations. The song birds are trailed by tween pop star Justin Bieber who racked up 4 nominations this year. Also nominated this year are Lana del Rey, Jay Z, Kanye West, and One Direction.
