Mindy McCready’s Longtime Boyfriend David Wilson Found Dead

Country singer Mindy McCready’s boyfriend, David Wilson was found shot by self inflicted gunshot wounds on Sunday evening at his Herber Springs , Arkansas home.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s department confirmed to Daily Mail that police and emergency services responded to a call at approximately 6:15pm, though it is unclear as to who made the call. Wilson was then transported to the nearest hospital, Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8pm. No criminal charges have been filed, but an investigation is under way.

“David was my soulmate,”  said the country singer to People in a statement. “He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and was loved. Those who knew  and loved  him will miss him; those who did know know David missed the opportunity to  know a truly loving and gifted man.”

Wilson died to “undisclosed causes”, according to the website.

McCready and Wilson had been together for two years. Wilson is the father of McCready’s youngest son, Zayne. She has an older son by country singer Billy McKnight named Zander. There has been no detail on funeral arrangements, though the services will take place in Arkansas.

Mindy McCready has had a troubled life. After her music career began to fade in the 1990’s, the country singer began to struggle with drug addiction and arrests. In 2005 and 2008, she was hospitalized for attempted suicides. In 2010, she was taken to the hospital for a drug overdose.
