Lil Wayne announced last week that he plans to hang up his microphone for a skateboard but a crew of New Orleans skaters is less than thrilled about his career change. Lil Wayne sat down with Sway Calloway during the MTV premiere of his new video “No Worries” and discussed the reactions he’s been getting to his early retirement.
“There is this skater crew called – I don’t know why I’m giving them love, but it’s called the ‘FWC.’ It’s called the ‘F**k Weezy Campaign’ and it’s a whole bunch of skaters that’s just like, ‘we don’t like the fact that Wayne skates period.’ Like ‘stick to doing what you do, don’t join our world, we don’t want you here,’ that type of thing.”
Wayne’s not letting the hate get him down, though. The New Orleans native has his own skate park in his home town and continues to plan to dedicate himself to the sport after the release of his 11th and final album ‘Tha Carter V.’
