Critically acclaimed actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been a busy man lately, and he’s ready to take a break from making movies.
DiCaprio told a German newspaper that he’s going to take time off from the silver screen to enjoy life and focus more on his environmental charities. “I am a bit drained,” DiCaprio told Germany’s Bild newspaper. “I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out.”
DiCaprio has been working like a mad man during the past two years, shooting three films back to back to back: Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, which has been a hit at the box office, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and his fifth film with Martin Scorsese in the forthcoming The Wolf of Wall Street. But if you expect DiCaprio to sit back idly and twiddle his thumbs, you’d be sadly mistaken.
DiCaprio plans on using the time off to raise awareness about global warming and the threat it has on our planet. “I would like to improve the world a bit,” he told the daily. “I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.” And he’s not afraid to put his money where his mouth is.
“My roof is covered with solar panels. My car is electric,” added DiCaprio. “A normal person does not drive more than 31 miles a day. That be done with a plug.”
After all that work i’d say he’s earned a break.
