In light of the death of a photographer who was killed trying to take pictures of Justin Bieber’s car Tuesday stars like Bieber and Miley Cyrus have been calling for stronger anti-paparazzi measures but experts are saying that that there are already enough laws on the books.
Celebrity attorney Blair Berk addressed the issue saying, “We have plenty of laws. Better enforcement of the existing laws is the answer.”
The controversy started when a photographer was hit by a car while crossing Sepulveda Boulevard to return to his own vehicle. He had stopped on the side of the road after seeing Justin Bieber’s Ferrari pulled over for a traffic stop to take pictures of the teen idol. According to officials Bieber was not in the car at the time of the incident, he had loaned the sports car to a friend.
Justin Bieber issues a statement yesterday saying, “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders and the photographers themselves.”
