Two fugitives were arrested last month, one in Vermont and the other in New York, for plotting to kill pop idol Justin Bieber, according to New Mexico’s KRQE News 13.
Investigators believe the two men, Mark Staake,41 and Tanner Ruane,23, had conspired with a convicted murderer they met in prison. The two, both wanted in Albuquerque on charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, were picked up by State Police in Vermont and New York. They are now being investigated in connection with the alleged Bieber conspiracy. St. Alban’s Police noted that they knew the names of the other intended victims but were not releasing the names.
According to KRQE, the convicted killer who the two conspired with, was the one who detailed the plot to the detectives. Dana Martin, the convicted murderer serving two sentences for rape and killing of a 15-year-old girl, told investigators that he had recruited Staake, who in turn recruited Ruae, to kill two people he knew in Vermont. He also detailed the plane to murder, via strangulation, and castrate the singer along with his body guard.
In response, Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, told Us Weekly, “we take every precaution to protect and insure the safety of Justin and his fans.”
