Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi got the phone call every parent dreads when authorities notified him that his 19 year old daughter, Stephanie Bon Jovi, was in the hospital after overdosing on heroin in a college dorm room. On top of that, Stephanie Bon Jovi is facing drug charges after drugs were found in here dorm room.
Stephanie Bon Jovi was found by an ambulance crew sent to Hamilton College after a tip came in that a female student was showing signs of an overdose in Durham Hall, the school’s largest dorm. Kirkland police investigator Peter Cania said Bon Jovi is now recovering in a hospital that he refused to name. The first officers sent to the dorm room found small amounts of heroin and also arrested Ian Grant, 21, a student at Hamilton College as well.
Detectives later obtained a search for the dorm room in question and found more heroin, marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia, which lead them to charge and arrest Stephanie Bon Jovi. Ian Grant and Stephanie Bon Jovi were both charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. The younger Bon Jovi was additionally charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Both Ian Grant and Stephanie Bon Jovi were issues tickets and ordered to appear in court at a later time.
