Jennifer Lopez, known just as much for her body than her talent, will have to cover it up as she hits the stage this weekend in Indonesian and Malaysia. The Islamic countries calls for a more modest outfit selection for the star who is famous for her revealing outfits. Flashback to that famous dress she wore at the 2000 Grammy’s.
“She’ll have to cover up a little bit,’ stated Chairi Ibrahim, the project manager for Kyandra Promosindo, one of the promoters for the Jakarta show of the “Dance Again World Tour on Friday.
J.Lo’s show will have to be censored a bit to appeal to her religious audience. She and all her dancers must wear clothes that don’t show men’s chests or women’s cleavage, and sexual dance moves will have to resemble laughs instead of “making love” Ibrahim added.
The adjustments to the show will fall in alignment with the informal rules that make the concert “suitable for Indonesia” and will satisfy the local government, Muslim Indonesians and clerics said Ibrahim.
J. Lo will perform just six months after Lady GaGa was forced to cancel her sold out show in Jakarta amid an uproar by Islamic hardliners against the singers’ costumes and dance moves.
In Ms. Lopez case, she has the reputation from American Idol in her corner where she was saw as the “normal girl”. She will perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday, then head to Singapore and Australia to finish out her world tour.
