After years of battling evil demons, Death Eaters, and an assortment of other supernatural villains, Rupert Grint will be taking his Harry Potter experience to the boob tube in his latest role.
Rupert Grint, best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, has landed his biggest follow up role to date as the lead character on CBS single-camera comedy pilot “Super Clyde”. On the show, Grint plays the title role of Clyde, who is described as a “well-meaning and sweet yet slightly neurotic guy who never feels like he really fits in. The avid comic book reader considers himself a borderline agoraphobic with mild to severe anxiety issues who wishes he was were a super hero himself. When Clyde inherits a $100,000 a month inheritance from his long-dead eccentric Uncle Bill, he decides that the cash will be his secret super power and will use it only for good and reward the good-hearted.”
“Clyde” comes from the minds of the creator of “Raising Hope”m Greg Garcia. Garcia is writing and executive producing the pilot for CBS. This isn’t Grint’s first role since Harry Potter, the British actor will be seen next in World War II drama “Into the White” about a group of British and German pilots forced to work together after they’ve been stranded in a cold and bitter area in Norway. The film is set to release in theaters on April 12th. The former loveable Potter character is also set to play the drummer in the Beach Boys biopic film. “Clyde” will be Grint’s first series regular role on a television show.
