Fans have been anticipated the arrival of the movie redemption of Fifty Shades of Grey. They have been hanging on to every new information released about the project, with many wondering who will play the iconic roles of Ana and Christian. The wait is almost over! Producer, Dana Brunetti, confirmed that an announcement will be made after Labor Day, but fans just might be disappointed.

The producer announced on the Northwest Prime radio show that the movie is still on for the August 1, 2014 release date and casting is in full swing. It’s still unclear who will play Christian or Ana, but that is set to be announced after the holiday weekend. With all the rumors of who can play the roles, Brunetti alluded that many fans could be disappointed. He explained that when one reads a book like Fifty Shades, readers form an array of images of who the character should be. He acknowledges that many fans will be unhappy with the choice, no matter who is picked, but he does pay attention to fans’ casting ideas.

Brunetti stated that the biggest hold up is finding the right chemistry between the characters. It’s important that  who they pick for Christian meshes well with who is picked to play Ana, and that is what’s taking up a lot of time.  Most recently, Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson have been added to the long list of candidates. I guess we’ll just have to wait until Labor Day!
