Late singer and songwriter Donna Summer will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame come April for her incredible contribution to the music world including hits like “I Feel the Love” and “Love to Love You Baby.”
This year marked the 6th time that Summers had made the shortlist of nominations and she beat out bands like Deep Purple and Kraftwerk to finally get her induction posthumously. Summers passed away only a few months ago from lung cancer at the age of 63.
Other musicians entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year include Rush, Public Enemy, Heart, Albert King and Randy Newman. Both Quincy Jones and Lou Adlers will be presented with the Ahmet Ertegun award.
Albert KIng, the American blues legend, will also be inducted posthumously, he passed away in 1992.The award ceremony will take place in Los Angeles. Since its opening in 1983 279 musicians have been inducted.
