Apparently, Dennis Rodman thinks that it is necessary for him, a self-admitted non-diplomat, to travel to North Korea the beginning of August to open up discussions with Kim Jong-un, North Korean president, regarding the release of American, Kenneth Bae. Bae was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor in North Korea for allegedly plotting to overthrow their government.

Rodman told TMZ he’s going to try and convince Jong-un to release Bae, even though he knows it will be hard. Then he goes even further by slamming President Obama, “We got a black president [who] can’t even go talk to [Jong-un] … Obama can’t do s%#t, I don’t know why he won’t go talk to him.”

While we certainly wish Rodman luck in this crusade to free Bae, we wonder what his strategy will be, considering his lack of diplomatic and political experience. If he is successful, perhaps he will consider running for office? Guess we will have to report back later in August to gauge his success or failure at negotiations.
