In wake of the news that the woman Miguel landed on during his performance at the Billboard Music Awards might have a case, reports are claiming that the singer was ordered not to attempt the dangerous jump, but did so despite requests.
TMZ reports that producers of the awards show ceremony had requested that the singer not attempt the leap over the crowd during his performance. They believed it would be too dangerous and gave Miguel a request to not perform the stunt. However, the singer did so and dropped his leg on an onlooker, slamming her head against the stage.
Sources say Miguel approached producers before rehearsals and asked if he could try the jump over the crowd during his set. Producers are reported as shutting down his request, telling Miguel it was just too dangerous. When showtime came around, the singer did not take heed to their caution.
The leg victim is currently waiting on results from a neurologist to determine if there is room for a case. Her lawyers claim she may have suffered from brain injury as a result of the incident. He also noted that Billboard did little to aid the woman after the injury and only provided her with an ice pack generally used for shoulder injuries. She was not rushed to the hospital to get a proper evaluation.
