Mega superstars Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez will be headlining a summer concert called the Sound of Change Live, where all proceeds will benefit various initiatives for more than 120 projects aimed at assisting women and girls in over 70 countries. Both singers are known for women empowerment and spreading girl power. The concert will be broadcast around the world.
The first lady of dubstep, Ellie Goulding, John Legend, producer Timbaland, Florence and the Machine, and other performers to be announced will perform at the Sound of Change Live concert that takes place June 1 in London at the Twickerham sports stadium . Other performers include Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Laura Pausini and Haim.
“Our goal is to have a great time together while we unite and strengthen the voices of girls and women around the world,” wrote Beyonce in a statement. “I am excited for us to come together on June 1st to bring the issues of Education, Health, and Justice for girls and women to the world stage.”
Other celebrities include James Franco, Blake Lively and Jade Pinkett Smith who will act as presenters at the event. Ticket purchases can choose which projects they’d like to fund, a concert first. The goal of the concert is to promote education, health and justice for women around the world.
