Ashton Kutcher Officially Files for Divorce from Demi Moore

It’s no secret that Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore split quite some time ago, but legally they were still married to each other. That didn’t stop them from going there separate ways and finding new spouses to occupy their time.

Now, over a year after the couple announced their separation to the world, Kutcher officially filed divorce papers making the split official on Dec.21, 2012. In the court documents, Ashton Kutcher cites irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split. Kutcher did not request any spousal support from Moore, and is also not asking to deny Moore any requests for her own spousal support.

Kutcher and Moore were married for six years before his highly publicized one night stand with party girl Sara Leal in September 2011. After the incident became public Moore released a statement, saying “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”

Not to be outdone, Kutcher released his own statement saying “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK.” Kutcher has since begun dating actress Mila Kunis since last spring.
