Ashanti Interviews Nelly

If things couldn’t get anymore awkward….

By now, it is old news that longtime love birds Ashanti and Nelly have called it quits.

Ashanti recently did an interview with her ex-boyfriend, St. Louis rapper Nelly, for Fuse News, where she is an executive producer and an anchor. Dating in the industry, she was bound to have her ex Nelly appear as a guest.  This would normally be no big deal, except for the fact that Ashanti and Nelly just went through a break-up not to long ago.  Whether things ended badly or not, Ashanti was able to put all that aside, sit down with Nelly and get the job done.

Ashanti appeared to be very comfortable speaking with Nelly as he discussed the evolution of hip hop, working in the studio, collaborating with Chris Brown, and expanding his brand beyond music.  The most awkward part of the interview had to be when Ashanti asked Nelly what type of girls he likes.  After a little giggle, Nelly’s response was:

“Let’s talk about that. Bad breathe is a deal breaker, Someone who lacks the confidence within themselves, to understand who they are. I won’t say that’s a deal breaker, but I definitely think we would at some point hit that wall, and a nice set of thighs always helps.”

Not all relationships end bad as Nelly and Ashanti prove in a recent interview on Complex.
