Alexandre Magno Abrao, the lead singer and composer for Brazil’s Charlie Brown Jr. band, has been found dead by police in his Sao Paulo apartment. According to police inspector Itagiba Vieira, Abrao was found dead on his kitchen floor by his driver on Wednesday.
Although an exact cause of death has not been found yet, inspector Vieira did say that “apparently he was not murdered.” He did go on to say that an “overdose of medicine or some other substance may have killed him.” Abrao has had a long battle with substance abuse and was trying to get clean in order to get his life and musical career back on track.
Brazil is reeling from the news of his death and the Charlie Brown Jr. band has yet to come out and make a statement about their lead singer’s death.
