Efron, Gosling Among Cast Rumors For Star Wars Episode 7

Star Wars Episode 7 is underway and rumors are buzzing on who will play the leading man, Luke Skywalker. While I’m rooting for Hayden Christensen to come back, I’m not complaining about who’s on top of the rumor mill. Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling both have their names in the hat forthe upcoming film.

Zac Efron’s name could come from the Disney connection. Now that Disney has the rights to Star Wars Episode 7, it would be only fitting that they put one of their actors in the film. Efron starred in the hit “High School Musical” series. Ryan Gosling has had his hand in a plethora of films and could take on the jedi knight with ease. However, nothing has yet to be confirmed.

Other rumors, which emerged during Comic Con, that the director J.J Abrams was planning to leave the film have been squashed by LucasFilm. “There is not truth to the rumor. JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year.”

More information on the film is scheduled to be released at this year’s D23 Expo in August. Hope is that a confirmed cast will be revealed by then.
